Delete Your Account

Mind Detective lets you permanently delete your account and all of your game data at any time, directly from the app. This page explains how to do it, what gets deleted, and how to reach us if you cannot access your account.

1. Delete Your Account From the App

This is the fastest method and it takes effect immediately. No email or approval from us is required.

1. Open the Mind Detective app and sign in to the account you want to delete.
2. On the case list screen, tap the profile icon in the top-right corner.
3. Scroll down to the Danger zone section and tap Delete account.
4. In the confirmation dialog, type DELETE in the text field, then tap Delete permanently.

Your account is erased right away and you are signed out. This action cannot be undone, and we cannot restore a deleted account or its progress.

2. What Gets Deleted

The following data is permanently removed from our production database:

• Account data: your email address, your hashed password, your Google or Apple sign-in identifier, and your account creation date.
• Game data: all your game sessions, your progress, your identity guesses, and your scores.
• Conversations: every message you exchanged with in-game characters, along with any pending scheduled messages.
• Usage counters: your daily case allowance records and your rewarded-ad credit grants.

3. What May Be Retained, and For How Long

• Encrypted database backups: our hosting provider keeps automated backups for up to 30 days for disaster recovery. Deleted data disappears from these backups as they rotate out.
• Anonymous technical logs: server logs that no longer identify you (such as error traces and aggregate counts) may be kept for up to 90 days for security and debugging.
• Records required by law: if we are legally obliged to retain specific information, we keep only what the law requires and for no longer than required.

Advertising is served by Google AdMob and is not tied to your Mind Detective account. To manage advertising data, use your device's ad settings or Google's own privacy controls.

4. If You Cannot Access Your Account

If you lost access to your account, uninstalled the app, or cannot complete the in-app steps for any reason, contact us and we will delete your account for you: privacy@minddetective.app

Please send your request with:

• the subject line Account deletion request;
• the email address associated with your Mind Detective account, sent from that same address when possible, so we can verify ownership.

We may ask for additional information solely to confirm the request comes from the account owner. We handle verified requests within 30 days and confirm by email once the deletion is complete.
